2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,300 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.

  1. Only 2,300 hits??? You deserve far more. I got 10,000 ish and was not happy with that are you promoting it right, I am no expert on that sort of thing but it seems to me you should be getting way mre hits…..was it a full year?

    • Thanks for your kind words. It would be nice to get more hits and I do promote it within my circle of friends and contacts. It started out as a blog just for our small community to highlight the flora and fauna of the area, but has reached wider audiences. We’ll see what this year brings.

      • Good Luck, I get most hits from people just searching on google so be carefull about what tags you put with your posts. not too many but the sort of thing people might type in for a search, ie not butterflies, but butterflies in Poitou-Charentes.

  2. I wonder if you need to have a widget to allow people to easilly follow your blog? I was going to click to follow it and can not find where to do that

    • Thanks for checking out my blog. Yes, I’m still learning how to use Word Press. I thought people could post it to their Facebook page, but you have to hit the permalink button which will reveal Facebook, Twitter, etc. Guess I’ll have to take another look. There is a follow the blog button you can hit, but it is not easily seen. Best, Gary
